Seagis Property Group Frontage Road Urban Renewal, LLC c/o Seagis Property Group LP understands that children and families at sporting events would like to have a flag present during the singing of the National Anthem before the start of games.
The flagpole has a value of approximately $30,000.00 to $40,000.00, including labor and materials.

WHEREAS, the Seagis Property Group Frontage Road Urban Renewal LLC c/o Seagis Property Group LP, One Meadowlands Plaza, Suite 800 East Rutherford, NJ 07073 ( “Seagis Property Group”), would like to donate One (1) Fifty (50) Ft. flagpole to the City of Newark (“City”). Seagis Property Group understands that children and families at sporting events would like to have a flag present when singing the National Anthem before the start of games. The flagpole has a value of approximately Thirty Thousand to Forty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($30,000.00- $40,000.00) including labor and material; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs & Senior Services (“Department”) desires to accept the gift of the One (1) Fifty (50) Ft flagpole and acknowledge the donation; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to expand and enrich the recreational opportunities to the residents of Newark and to partner with the Seagis Property Group, by creating opportunities for all Newark residents, especially the City’s youth, and improve the quality of programs; and
WHEREAS, the Seagis Property Group, fully understands and agrees that it is not entitled to receive any benefit from the City, Mayor Ras J. Baraka, or any other personnel affiliated with the City in exchange for the gift; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29, a local unit is authorized and empowered to accept bequests, legacies and gifts made to it and is empowered to utilize such bequests, legacies and gifts in the manner set forth in the conditions of the bequest, legacy or gift provided, however, that such bequest, legacy, or gift shall not be put to any use which is inconsistent with the laws of the State of New Jersey and the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor of the City of Newark and/or the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs & Senior Services are authorized to accept the gift from Seagis Property Group, One Meadowlands Plaza, Suite 800 East Rutherford, NJ 07073 of One (1) fifty (50) Ft flagpole to allow children and their families to sing the National Anthem at sporting events at the start of the game.
2. This gift of One (1) Fifty (50) Ft flagpole to the City of Newark to allow children and families to sing the national anthem to, is valued at approximately Thirty Thousand to Forty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($30,000.00-$40,000.00)
3. The City acknowledges the generous donation of the flagpole through this resolution.
4. No municipal funds will be expended for the acceptance of this gift.

This Resolution ratifies and authorizes the Mayor and/or the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs & Senior Services to accept the gift from the Seagis Property Group Frontage Road Urban Renewal c/o Seagis Property Group, One Meadowlands Plaza, Suite 800 East Rutherford, NJ 07073, would like to donate One (1) Fifty (50) Ft flagpole to the City of Newark. To allow for children and families at sporting events to have a flag present when singing the National Anthem before the start of games. The gift of the flagpole is approximately $30,000.00- $40,000.00 including labor and materials. No municipal funds will be expended for the acceptance of this gift.
