WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting an Evening of Jazz at Veterans Memorial Park, 85 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, 5:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. (Event Time: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.); and

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Mount Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Mount Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Veterans Memorial Park, 85 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. (Event Time: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.), for an Evening of Jazz.

 

2.                     This Municipal Council hereby ratifies this hold harmless and indemnification agreement from August 1, 2024, to the date of this authorizing resolution.

 

3.                     The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Mount Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for their records.

 

4.                     A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.

This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Mount Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Veterans Memorial Park, 85 West Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07052, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. (Event Time: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.), for an Evening of Jazz, sponsored by Council President, LaMonica R. McIver.
