WHEREAS, the City of Newark has a very large and vibrant, diverse Hispanic community, which has contributed greatly to the progress of the City through its social, economic and political growth; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark Music Festival - Batey Borincano Cultural Association’s 20th Annual “Fiestas Del Mapeye,” pays tribute to the rich cultural heritage and musical contributions of Newark’s Hispanic community; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support and sponsorship of this year’s 20th Annual “Fiestas Del Mapeye” Celebration to be held Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 12:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M., on Orange Street between 5th Street and 7th Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby support and sponsors the City of Newark Music Festival - Batey Borincano Cultural Association’s 20th Annual “Fiestas Del Mapeye” Celebration to be held on Orange Street between 5th Street and 7th Avenue on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 12:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports and declares sponsorship of the City of Newark Music Festival - Batey Borincana Cultural Association’s 20th Annual “Fiestas Del Mapeye” Celebration to be held on Orange Street between 5th Street and & 7th Avenue on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 12:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M., sponsored by Council Members, Luis A. Quintana, Anibal Ramos, Jr., and Carlos M. Gonzalez.
