WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals and pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described locations be added as a bus stop:
ADD BUS STOP:
1. In the East Ward, along Lister Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side at:
Cornelia Street, midblock
Beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom.
ADD BUS STOP:
2. In the East Ward, along Lister Avenue, westbound on the northerly side at:
Cornelia Street, midblock
Beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the East Ward, the following described location is hereby added as a bus stop at no cost to the City of Newark.
Along Lister Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side, midblock of Cornelia Street, beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom.
2. In the East Ward, the following described location is hereby added as a bus stop at no cost to the City of Newark.
Along Lister Avenue, westbound on the northerly side, midblock of Cornelia Street, beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom.
3. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
4. No Amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
5. Upon approval, the Engineering Department will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk's Office to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the location of bus stops as stated.
6. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the location of bus stops as stated.
7. Pursuant to NJSA 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop locations does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation's approval.
STATEMENT
This resolution designates the addition of two (2) bus stops in the East Ward as follows:
The following described locations are hereby added as bus stops at no cost to the City of Newark: Along Lister Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side, midblock of Cornelia Street, beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom. Along Lister Avenue, westbound on the northerly side, midblock of Cornelia Street beginning 550' west of the westerly curb line of Cornelia Street and extending 135' westerly therefrom.
