WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint fifty (50) Constables to establish the term for such appointment at one (1) or three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to implement the three (3) year option.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Ramona Theodora Williams, 221 Kerrigan Boulevard, Newark, New Jersey 07106, be and is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with her application to serve subpoenas, writs, lockouts and repossessions.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of her office and no later than thirty (30) days after effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby authorizes Ramona Theodora Williams, 221 Kerrigan Boulevard, Newark, New Jersey 07106, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey, for a period of three (3) years.
