WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society in having fresh vegetables and foods to be healthy in their community; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton Hill Community Action Farmer’s Market will enrich the community by giving our area an opportunity to get to meet and network with the neighbors and youngsters that we rarely see and know while sharing new ideas for our neighborhood in cleanliness, being healthy, and safety; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Clinton Hill Community Action Farmer’s Market, 393 Hawthorne Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112being held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 through October 31, 2026
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Clinton Hill Community Action Farmer’s Market, being held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 through October 31, 2026, 393 Hawthorne Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($300.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This resolution supports and declares sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Clinton Hill Community Action Farmer’s Market, being held on Saturday, June 27, through October 31, 2026 Newark, 393 Hawthorne Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($300.00), for an event to be held in the South Ward), co-sponsored by Council Member Patrick O. Council.
