WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described location is relocated as a bus stop:
ADDED BUS STOP:
1. In the Central Ward, along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side thereof:
Central Avenue, Near Side
Beginning at the northerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 105ft northerly therefrom.
DELETED BUS STOP:
2. In the Central Ward, along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side thereof:
Central Avenue, Far Side
Beginning at the southerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 100ft southerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the Central Ward, the following described location be hereby relocated:
From: along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side, at Central Avenue (Far Side) beginning at the southerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 100ft southerly therefrom.
To: along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side, at Central Avenue (Near Side) beginning at the northerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 105ft northerly therefrom.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. No Amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
4. Upon approval, the Department of Engineering will forward a certified copy of this resolution to The County of Essex to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the relocation of a bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, the Engineering Department will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk's Office to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the relocation of a bus stop as stated.
6. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the relocation of a bus stop as stated.
7. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop relocation does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation's approval.
STATEMENT
This resolution designates the relocation of a bus stop in the Central Ward as follows:
From: along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side, at Central Avenue (Far Side) beginning at the southerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 100ft southerly therefrom.
To: along South 8th Street, southbound on the westerly side, at Central Avenue (Near Side) beginning at the northerly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 105ft northerly therefrom.
