WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, New Jersey, adopted Resolution 7R1-f  dated December 17, 2014, to provide temporary funds for the period of January 1, 2015 through March 31, 2015,    Resolution 7R1-d (A.S.) dated April 1, 2015, to provide temporary funds for the period of April 1, 2015 to April 30, 2015, Resolution 7R1-i dated May 20, 2015, to provide temporary funds for the period of May 1, 2015 to May 31, 2015, Resolution 7R1-l dated June 17, 2015, to provide funds for the period of June 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015 and Resolution 7R1-b dated July 1, 2015, to provide funds for the period of July 1, 2015 through July 31, 2015, until the adoption of the Operating Budget of the City of Newark, New Jersey; and

 

WHEREAS, additional appropriations will be required for the Water Utility from August 1, 2015 through August 31, 2015, until the adoption of the Operating Budget; and

 

 WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and

 

              WHEREAS, the emergency appropriations adopted in 2015, pursuant to N.J.S.A.40A: 4-20, including this resolution total…………………………$35,699,101.

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Governing Body by a two-thirds vote of its full membership hereby amends its temporary budget by making the following temporary emergency appropriations for the Water Utility:

STATEMENT

 

This resolution authorizes additional funds required for the continued operation of the Water Utility, for the period of August 1, 2015 through August 31, 2015, in the amount of $3,510,605.
