WHEREAS, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark is desirous of holding the 2014 Mayoral and Municipal Council Inauguration on the grounds of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support of this city-wide ceremonious event by approving the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Center Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports and authorizes the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Center Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark's use of the grounds (the front of the building from the parking lot, along Center Street to the intersection of Center Street and Park Place, and Prudential Hall in the event of inclement weather), for the 2014 Mayoral and Municipal Council Inauguration on Monday, June 30, 2014 and Tuesday, July 1, 2014 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Newark Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Center Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT:
This resolution hereby authorizes the support and issuance by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn for the benefit of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Center Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark's use of the grounds of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (and/or Prudential Hall in instance of inclement weather) for the purpose of the 2014 City of Newark Mayoral and Municipal Council Inauguration on Monday, June 30, 2014 and Tuesday, July 1, 2014 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m
