WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc., for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Kyle Abercrombia was born on December 8, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey and was known throughout the Tri-State for his unique voice and commentary as a master of ceremony for fashion shows and his innovative eye for design and styles in the fashion industry; and
WHEREAS, “The Voice” as he was known, not only provided leadership and mentorship for the youth of several cities, he also provided spiritual guidance as an ordained minister and active member of the ministerial staff at First Timothy Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, throughout his life Reverend Abercrombia accumulated many awards and tributes for his sense of style, however, his greatest contribution was his love for his community and how his ministry touched souls from all walks of life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby authorizes the honorary and ceremonial renaming of the intersection of Bergen Street and Vassar Avenue as “Reverend Kyle “The Voice” Abercrombia Way.”
2. The official name of the said street shall remain Bergen Street and Vassar Avenue in their entirety.

Street and Vassar Avenue as “Reverend Kyle “The Voice” Abercrombia Way”, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
