Location: Along Avenue P midblock between Wilson Avenue and Foundry Street northbound on the easterly side, beginning at 300 feet north of the northerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 135 feet northerly (East Ward).
Along Doremus Avenue, midblock between Roanoke Avenue and Wilson Avenue, southbound on the westerly side, beginning at 244 feet south of the southerly curb line of Roanoke Avenue and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom the FedEx driveway (East Ward).

WHEREAS, New Jersey Transit Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for the proposed designation of Bus Stop locations, and has requested this Resolution due to the expansion of the #25 bus line to accommodate the new FedEx facility located on Doremus Avenue; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(A), the following described locations are added as a Bus Stop; and
Added Bus Stops:
1. In the East Ward, along Avenue P, northbound, on the easterly side thereof:
a. Between Wilson Avenue and Foundry Street, mid-block
Beginning at 300 feet north of the northerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 135 feet northerly therefrom.
2. In the East Ward, along Doremus Avenue, southbound, on the westerly side thereof:
a. Between Roanoke Avenue and Wilson Avenue, mid-block
Beginning at 244 feet south of the southerly curb line of Roanoke Avenue and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom the FedEx driveway.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a Bus Stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, THAT:
1. In the East Ward, the following described locations are hereby added as bus stops:
Added: Along Avenue P, northbound on the easterly side between Wilson Ave and Foundry Street, mid-block location. Beginning at 300 feet north of the northerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 135 feet northerly therefrom.
Added: Along Doremus Avenue, southbound on the westerly side between Roanoke Avenue and Wilson Avenue, mid-block location. Beginning at 244 feet south of the southerly curb line of Roanoke Avenue and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom the FedEx driveway.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. No amendment will be made to this Resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council.
4. Upon approval, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering will forward a copy of this Resolution to the Office of the City Clerk to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the designation of bus stops as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the designation of bus stops as stated.
6. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop locations do not require New Jersey Department of Transportation’s approval.

This Resolution designates the location of bus stops in the East Ward as follows:
Added: Along Avenue P, northbound on the easterly side between Wilson Avenue and Foundry Street, mid-block location. Beginning at 300 feet north of the northerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 135 feet northerly therefrom.
Added: Along Doremus Avenue, southbound on the westerly side between Roanoke Avenue and Wilson Avenue, mid-block location. Beginning at 244 feet south of the southerly curb line of Roanoke Avenue and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom the FedEx driveway.
