WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R1-L, authorized on July 7, 2011, the Municipal Council authorized the Mayor and/or his designee, the Deputy Mayor/Director of the Department of Economic and Housing Development to enter into and execute a Sub-recipient Agreement with La Casa de Don Pedro (hereafter referred to as the Sub-recipient) for the purpose of providing Public Facilities Development/Rehabilitation to its facility located at 23 Broadway, Newark, NJ  07104, Block 510, Lot 29 (North Ward), for the term of January 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011, for an amount not to exceed $80,000.00; and
 
WHEREAS, the Sub-recipient has requested authorization to extend the agreement term from January 1, 2011-December 31, 2011 to January 1, 2011-December 31, 2012 and to amend the scope of services in the Sub-recipient Agreement to include repair to the basement and second  floor steps, improved lighting, replace walls, new sidewalks, and repair roof drainage; and
WHEREAS, this project does not require the use of additional funds and all other terms and conditions contained in Sub-recipient Agreement authorized under Resolution 7R1-L 070711 shall remain in full force and effect.  
            
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
1.      The Mayor and/or his designee, the Deputy Mayor/Director of the Department of Economic and Housing Development, are hereby authorized to enter into and execute a First Amended Sub-recipient Agreement, in the form attached hereto, with La Casa de Don Pedro  (hereafter referred to as the Sub-recipient), for the purpose of amending the scope of services in Sub-recipient Agreement to include repair to the basement and second  floor steps, improved lighting, replace walls, new sidewalks, and repair roof drainage and to extend the agreement term from  January 1, 2011-December 31, 2011 to January 1, 2011-December 31, 2012 to      allow the sub-recipient to complete the Public Facilities Development/Rehabilitation to its facility located at 23 Broadway, Newark, NJ  07104, Block 510, Lot 29 (North Ward).
 
2.      The First Amended Sub-recipient Agreement between the City of Newark and the Sub-recipient is hereby ratified from January 1, 2011 to the date of adoption of this authorizing resolution.
 
3.      This resolution and a fully executed copy of the First Amended Sub-recipient Agreement shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk by the Deputy Mayor/Director of the Department of Economic and Housing Development.
 
4.      This project does not require the use of additional funds and all other terms and conditions contained in the Sub-recipient Agreement authorized pursuant to Resolution 7R1-L 070711 shall remain in full force and effect and in accordance with the law.
