WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, John Martin Lema, 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-c, adopted at the August 2, 2017, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, John Martin Lema, 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104 must give a bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Acting Corporation Counsel and Municipal Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of John Martin Lema, 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 issued to John Martin Lema, 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby authorizes and approves the form, amount, and sufficiency of the Constable Bond posted for John Martin Lema, 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, who was appointed to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
