An amending Resolution 7R5-a, adopted on October 2, 2024, accepted additional funds in the amount of $35,659.00, updating the total grant award to $4,054,772.00.
HRSA has made additional funds in the amount of $56,038.00 available, for a new grant award of $4,110,810.00.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R5-a, adopted on January 24, 2024, the City of Newark’s (“City”) Department of Health and Community Wellness applied for and accepted grant funds from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the amount of Four Million Nineteen Thousand One Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,019,113.00) for the Health Center Program; and
WHEREAS, on or about September 3, 2024 and September 18, 2024, HRSA notified the City that additional funds in the amount of Fifty Six Thousand Thirty Eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($56,038.00) increasing the total award amount to Four Million One Hundred Ten Thousand eight Hundred Ten Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,110,810.00) (a copy of the Notice of Awards are attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the additional funds; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that HRSA may extend the time of the grant award and/or provide additional funds, if made available; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Department of Health and Community Wellness, shall upon any such extension of time of the grant and/or increase/decrease of additional funds, file an amending resolution reflecting the final term and award amount of the grant; and
WHEREAS, terms of this grant award may only be waived or amended by the parties duly authorized to execute the grant, subject to the approval of the Municipal Council by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. This Resolution shall amend Resolution 7R5-a, adopted by the Municipal Council on January 24, 2024, to accept additional funding from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the amount of Fifty Six Thousand Thirty Eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($56,038.00) for the Health Center Program.
2. The Mayor of the City of Newark (“City”), and/or his designee, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness, are hereby authorized to accept and expend the additional funds.
3. The City’s Department of Health and Community Wellness, shall upon any extension of time of the grant, and/or increase/decrease of additional funds, file an amending resolution reflecting the final time and award amount of the grant.
4. The Municipal Council hereby ratifies the acceptance of this grant award from the date the electronic acceptance was filed to the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
5. No Municipal matching funds are required for the receipt or acceptance of this grant award.
STATEMENT
This Resolution ratifies and authorizes the actions taken by the Mayor of the City of Newark, and/or his designee, the Director of Health and Community Wellness, to amend Resolution 7R5-a adopted on October 2, 2024, and accept additional grant funds in the amount of Fifty Six Thousand Thirty Eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($56,038.00) from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration for the Health Center Program, revising the total grant amount from $4,054,772.00 to $4,110,810.00. No Municipal matching funds are required for the receipt or acceptance of the grant funds.
