WHEREAS, on December 21, 2016, the Newark Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R9-a 122116 (attached), which authorized the Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of the Department of Public Safety, to submit an application to the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, for grant funds from the FY2015 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Authority Grant program; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 7R9-a December 21, 2016 further authorized the acceptance of a resulting grant award in the amount of $5,587,236.00; and
WHEREAS, throughout Resolution 7R9-a December 21, 2016, the grant award amount was indicated to be $5,587,236.00; and
WHEREAS, it has since come to the Administration’s attention, however, that the indicated grant award amount of $5,587,236.00 was incorrect due to scrivener error, and should instead have been $5,857,236.00 (Award Package attached); and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety/Fire Division therefor recommends that Resolution 7R9-a December 21, 2016 be amended by deleting all figures of $5,587,236.00, and replacing them with figures of $5,857,236.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Resolution 7R9-a 1 December 21, 2016 is hereby amended by deleting all figures of $5,587,236.00, and replacing them instead with figures of $5,857,236.00.
2. All other terms and conditions of Resolution 7R9-a December 21, 2016 shall remain the same.
3. The amendment of Resolution 7R9-a 122116 is hereby ratified from December 21, 2016, to the date of adoption of this authorizing resolution.
STATEMENT
This resolution ratifies and authorizes the amendment of Resolution 7R9-a December 21, 2016 by deleting all grant figures of $5,587,236.00, which were incorrect due to scrivener error, and replacing them instead with the correct grant figure of $5,857,236.00.
