WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to fifty (50) Constables to establish the term for such appointment at one (1) or three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to implement the three (3) year option.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Oliver Richard Mayson, of 195 1st Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, be and is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas summonses, court orders, and warrants.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of
the appointment or to the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever
occurs first.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby authorizes the appointment of Oliver Richard Mayson, of 195 1st Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a period of three (3) years from the date of appointment or until the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
