WHEREAS, Resolution 7R1g, adopted April 24, 2018, authorized the Business Administrator to enter into a contract with GovConnection, Inc., an authorized Microsoft reseller, for two years commencing March 1, 2018 through February 29, 2020, with an option to renew for one additional year to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, in order to maintain the City’s Microsoft Office Suite, emails, servers, and system licensing; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to renew the contract under the previously existing terms and conditions from March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021, for an amount not to exceed four hundred seventy-five thousand four hundred forty dollars and one cent ($475,440.01) for the services as described in the original contract; and
WHEREAS, this contract is being awarded pursuant to a “non-fair and open” process pursuant to State Pay-to-Play Law N.J.S.A.19:44A-20.5; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or the Business Administrator are authorized to renew and execute a contract with GovConnection Inc., an authorized Microsoft reseller, for one (1) year from March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021 to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, for an amount not to exceed four hundred seventy-five thousand four hundred forty dollars and one cent ($475,440.01).
2. This contract is ratified from March 1, 2020, through the date of the adoption of this authorizing resolution by the Municipal Council.
3. All good and services of this renewal are to be performed pursuant to the terms and conditions stated in the original contract.
4. Attached is a Purchase Order in the amount of four hundred seventy-five thousand four hundred forty dollars and one cent.
5. The Business Administrator shall file a fully executed contract in the Office of the City Clerk by the Business Administrator.
STATEMENT
Resolution ratifying and authorizing the Mayor and/or his designee, the Business Administrator to renew the contract with GovConnection Inc., at 732 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH 03054, for one (1) additional year commencing March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021, to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, for the City of Newark, for an amount not to exceed four hundred seventy-five thousand four hundred forty dollars and one cent ($475,440.01).
