WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-19 the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, New Jersey; adopted Resolution 7R1-f dated January 5, 2012 to provide temporary funds for the period of January 1, 2012 through March 31, 2012, and Resolution 7R1-af dated April 4, 2012, to provide temporary funds for the period of April 1, 2012 through April 30, 2012,  and Resolution W3 dated April 3, 2012, to be considered and adopted at the Municipal Council Meeting on June 7, 2012 to provide funds for the period of May 1, 2012 through May 31, 2012, Resolution W4 dated April 26, 2012 to be considered and adopted at the Municipal Council Meeting on June 7, 2012 to provide funds for the period of June 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012, until the adoption of the Operating Budget of the City of Newark, New Jersey; and
 
WHEREAS, additional appropriations will be required for the Water Utility from July 1, 2012 through July  31, 2012, until the adoption of the budget; and
 
 WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and
 
             WHEREAS, the emergency appropriations adopted in 2012, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 including this resolution total……………………………………$34,531,622.00
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
1.      The Governing Body by a two-thirds vote of its full membership hereby amends its temporary budget by making the following temporary emergency appropriations for the Water Utility:

STATEMENT
 
This resolution hereby authorizes this appropriation to provide additional funds required for the continued operation of the Water Utility (City Wide) for the month of July 2012.
