AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY AMENDING THE NO PARKING ANYTIME ON RAYMOND BOULEVARD.

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to amend Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, by revising the No Parking Limits on Raymond Boulevard between Blanchard Street and Warren Street; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals seeks to allow street parking along portions on Raymond Boulevard next to the City of Newark's new Riverfront Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by deleting therefrom the following:
Raymond Boulevard, north side, from McCarter Highway to Mulberry Street; north side, from Mulberry Street to Warren Street; south side, from Mulberry Street to Warren Street
Raymond Boulevard, south side, beginning at the easterly curbline of Mulberry Street and extending 260 feet southerly therefrom
Raymond Boulevard, north side, from Blanchard Street to Monroe Street; north side, from Jackson Street to Raymond Plaza West
Raymond Boulevard, south side, from Blanchard Street to Jackson Street; south side, from Monroe Street to McCarter Highway
Section 2. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Raymond Boulevard, north side, from Halsey Street to Warren Street; south side, from Halsey Street to Warren Street
Raymond Boulevard, north side, from Blanchard Street to Mott Street; north side, from Somme Street to Jersey Street
Raymond Boulevard, south side, from Blanchard Street to Somme Street; south side, from Van Buren Street to Prospect Street
Section 3. Any existing ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 5. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.

This ordinance amends Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times by amending the No Parking Anytime prohibition on Raymond Boulevard.
