Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the resident of Newark, while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
Whereas, the La Barranquitenas Multicultural Festival will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Elwood Park between Summer Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Newark. The application $50.00 and the permit $50.00 totaling $100.00 will be waived for the event; and
Whereas, the La Barranquitenas Multicultural Festival, will be a celebration for the residents in the community with food, drinks, art and many more activities and fun; and
Whereas, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of La Barranquitenas Multicultural Festival held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., in Elwood Park between Summer Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Newark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the La Barranquitenas Multicultural Festival be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in Elwood Park between Summer Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Newark.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s fees for the application $50.00 and the permit $50.00 totaling $100.00.

1. La Barranquitenas Multicultural Festival be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in Elwood Park between Summer Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Newark. This Resolution is sponsored by Council Member, Anibal Ramos, Jr., North Ward.
