This Resolution amends Resolution 7R2-j adopted on May 6, 2026 solely to increase the grant award from Eight Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($829,600.00) to Two Million Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars ($2,379,893.00) pursuant to a modified Notice of Award issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R2-j, adopted by the Municipal Council on May 6, 2026, the City of Newark accepted a grant award from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development in the amount of Eight Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand Six Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($829,600.00) for the Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP); and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development subsequently issued a modified Notice of Award, increasing the City's total grant allocation for the Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP) from Eight Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand Six Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($829,600.00) to Two Million Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,379,893.00), while all other terms and conditions of the award remain unchanged; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Newark to amend Resolution 7R1-j to reflect the increased grant award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or his designee, the Business Administrator, are hereby authorized to accept and expend the amended grant award in the amount of Two Million Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,379,893.00) in accordance with the modified Notice of Award.
2. Resolution 7R1-j, adopted by the Municipal Council on May 6, 2026, is hereby amended solely to increase amount of the Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP) grant award from Eight Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand Six Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($829,600.00) to Two Million Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,379,893.00) pursuant to the modified Notice of Award issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
3. All other provisions of Resolution 7R1-j shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
