WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting a Summer Cook-Out at Stephen Crane Elderly - 801 N. 6th Street; 900 Franklin Avenue; 58-60 Cedar Lane; Stephen Crane Village and Riverside Villa, Newark, New Jersey 07104, on Thursdays, July 20, 2023; July 27, 2023; August 3, 2023; August 10, 2023 and August 17, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Newark Housing Authority, 500 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Newark Housing Authority, 500 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Stephen Crane Elderly - 801 N. 6th Street; 900 Franklin Avenue; 58-60 Cedar Lane; Stephen Crane Village and Riverside Villa, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for a Summer Cook-Out, on July 20, 2023; July 27, 2023; August 3, 2023; August 10, 2023 and August 17, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council hereby ratifies its authorization in support of the issuance of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement from July 7, 2023 through the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
3. The Acting City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to Newark Housing Authority, 500 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for their records.
4. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark’s Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of Newark Housing Authority, 500 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Stephen Crane Elderly - 801 N. 6th Street; 900 Franklin Avenue; 58-60 Cedar Lane; Stephen Crane Village and Riverside Villa, Newark, New Jersey 07104, on July 20, 2023; July 27, 2023; August 3, 2023; August 10, 2023 and August 17, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M., for a Summer Cook-Out, sponsored by Council Member, Anibal Ramos, Jr.
