WHEREAS, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark on March 11, 2014, pursuant to Resolution No. 7R5-A(s), authorized the Mayor and/or his designee the Director of Finance to enter into a contract with Bowman and Company, LLP, 601 White Horse Road, Voorhees, New Jersey, 08043, for a total amount not to exceed $98,936.00, to perform Budget Advisory Services for the City of Newark, in accordance with the RFP Specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Resolution and Professional Services Agreement provide that the term of the contract will be established for one (1) year pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3(b); and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark underestimated the amount of hours necessary to complete the scope of work outlined in the contract; and
WHEREAS, the outstanding bill requires an increase in the total contract amount; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark requires additional funds for the contract with Bowman and Company, LLP; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance is requesting authorization to amend the contract by increasing the amount by $178,682.00 for a total not to exceed amount of $277,618.00; and
WHEREAS, the requested amendment to increase the contract amount is deemed reasonable and necessary to pay the outstanding bill incurred; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of Finance, are hereby authorized to amend the contract by increasing the amount to $277,618.00.
2. Additional funds in the amount of $178,682.00, for total amount not to exceed $277,618.00, shall be certified from the 2015 Budget.
3. This resolution shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk by the Director of the Department of Finance.
4. All other terms and conditions contained in the Contract authorized pursuant to Resolution No. 7R5-A(s), and adopted on March 11, 2014 shall remain in full force and effect and in accordance with the law unless amended herein.

Resolution ratifies and authorizes the Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of Finance to increase the contract amount by $178,682.00, for a total amount not to exceed $277,618.00, for the term March 31, 2014 through March 30, 2015, with Bowman and Company, LLP, 601 White Horse Road, Voorhees, New Jersey 08043, for Budget Advisory Services performed for the City of Newark.
