WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the H.L.E.S. Battle of the Badges Softball Tournament, to be held at Branch Brook Park (Cherry Blossom Welcome Center) Newark, New Jersey 07104 on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event for the benefit of Newark residents by approving this Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Branch Brook Park (Cherry Blossom Welcome Center), Newark, New Jersey 07104 on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Newark Municipal Council shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104 for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports the issuance by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Branch Brook Park (Cherry Blossom Welcome Center), Newark, New Jersey 07104, for the H.L.E.S. Battle of the Badges Softball Tournament on Saturday, September 9, 2017, between 9:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. sponsored by Councilman Carlos M. Gonzalez.
