The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($100.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Downtown Night Market (NDD), provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups, organizations, families and friends that reside in the City by hosting an array of vendors that will provide a community farm stand, book readings, clothing and accessories as well as music and food; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the NDD Night Market, which be held on Treat Place between Halsey Street and William Street, (Central-Ward) on Friday, October 13, 2023, from the hours of 5:30 P.M. until 9:30 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Newark Downtown District, NDD Night Market, which will be held on Treat Place between Halsey Street and William Street, (Central-Ward) on Friday, October 13, 2023, from the hours of 5:30 P.M. until 9:30 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($100.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Newark Downtown District, NDD Night Market, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees of ($100.00), which will be held on., which will be held on Treat Place between Halsey Street and William Street, (Central-Ward) on Friday, October 13, 2023, from the hours of 5:30 P.M. until 9:30 P.M.
