Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to the extraordinary Block Party 

 

WHEREAS, the 4th Annual Halsey Street Festival will provide the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, while also providing vital services to individuals with a kid’s zone, family activities, vendors and musical performances; and

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the 4th Annual Halsey Street Festival, Saturday, June 7, 2025, to be held between Central Avenue and Linden Street from the hours of 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the 4th Annual Halsey Street Festival, Saturday, June 7, 2025, to be held between Central Avenue and Linden Street, from the hours of 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

 

2.                     The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Special Event Fees of Festival $500.00, Street Closure Fee of $50.00 and the Application Fee of $50.00, Totaling $600.00, be waived, however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council for the 4th Annual Halsey Street Event, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Fees of Festival $500.00, Street Closure Fee of $50.00 and the Application Fee of $50.00, Totaling $600.00, be waived, for an event to be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, to be held between Central Avenue and Linden Street, from the hours of 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
