WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council supports the Department of Public Safety’s use of the Newark Public School’s stadium located at 516-566 Roseville Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07107, for “National Night Out Against Crime” on August 1, 2017, between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Public School requires the City of Newark to submit a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement in favor of the Newark Public Schools.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the Insurance Fund Commission to hold harmless, indemnify, and defend the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102,for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the School Stadium located at 516-566 Roseville Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07107, for “National Night Out Against Crime” on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
2. The Director of the Department of Public Safety shall forward the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Newark Public Schools, 190-218 Muhammad Ali Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07108.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk by Director of the Department of Public Safety.
STATEMENT
This resolution supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement and a Certificate of Self-Insurance on behalf of the City of Newark providing the Newark Public Schools with indemnification for any claims arising out of the use of the School Stadium located at 516-566 Roseville Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07107, on August 1, 2017, between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to conduct a “National Night Out Against Crime” program.
