The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($550.00) for the street festival will be waived.

Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark; and
WHEREAS, the Halsey Street Festival will be held on Halsey Street (between New Street and Central Avenue), on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees of Five Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents, ($550.00) for the event will be waived; and
WHEREAS, the Halsey Street Festival provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various live performances, DJ’s, food vendors, Kid’s Zone, and community organizations.
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Halsey Street Festival that will be held on Halsey Street (between New Street and Central Avenue), from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Halsey Street Festival on Halsey Street (between New Street and Central Avenue), on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees of Five Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($550.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
