            WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $100,000.00 for Boylan Street Mini Sports Complex Renovation Project and no provision has been made in the 2015 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose abovementioned; and
 
WHEREAS, by an award letter dated March 16, 2015 from the Public Service Enterprise Group Foundation (PSEG) via Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), the City was awarded funding for Boylan Street Mini Sports Complex Renovation Project in the amount of $100,000.00 to provide funds to the Project as set forth in the attached;  and
 
            WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and
 
            WHEREAS, the emergency appropriations adopted in 2015 pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 including this resolution total …$108,236,760.23.
 
            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
  1. An emergency appropriation be and the same is hereby made for the following classification:
    1. Program                                          Amount
    2. Boylan Street Mini Sports Complex                  $100,000.00
 Renovation Project
  1. Said emergency appropriation shall be provided for in the 2015 budget.
  2. A copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Director of the Division of Local Government Services by the City Clerk of the City of Newark.
 
 
STATEMENT
 
This legislation establishes an appropriation in the amount of $100,000.00.  These funds have been awarded by the Public Service Enterprise Group Foundation (PSEG) via Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC).  The project period is September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015. (West-Ward)
