WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that fellows residents can have the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, The BrownMill Anniversary Block Party will be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, from 12:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fee of Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($50.00) for the event will be waived; and
WHEREAS, The BrownMill Anniversary Block Party provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, businesses, families and friends that reside in the community; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of The BrownMill Anniversary Block Party, that will be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of The BrownMill Anniversary Block Party, that will be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of The BrownMill Anniversary Block Party, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees of ($50.00), to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., co-sponsored by Council President, LaMonica R. McIver.
