WHEREAS, on June 12, 2018, Mildred C. Crump sustained a hip fracture in a fall; and
WHEREAS, on July 13, 2018, Municipal Council President and Member At-Large, Mildred C. Crump caused a Memorandum to be delivered to the City Clerk, advising that she was currently undergoing rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, on July 17, 2018, at the Special Municipal Council Meeting the Memorandum was made part of the public record by Municipal Council Vice President, Luis A. Quintana; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:16-3g, Municipal Council President and Member At-Large, Mildred C. Crump has provided the governing body with proper notification with the timeframe permitted of her inability to attend and participate in any meetings and/or events of the governing body, as a result of her accident and continued rehabilitation, which constitutes a legitimate illness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Governing Body by a majority of its members, hereby excuses Council President and Member At-Large, Mildred C. Crump from attending and participating in any meetings and/or events of the governing body due to legitimate illness pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:16-3g, from July 1, 2018 until the end of her convalescence and rehabilitation.
2. This resolution is hereby ratified from July 1, 2018 to the date of adoption.
3. A copy of this resolution and Memorandum shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby excuses the absence of Mildred C. Crump, Council President and Member At-Large from all meetings and/or events of the governing body due to a legitimate illness, effective July 1, 2018, ending at the completion of her convalesce and rehabilitation, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:16-3g.
