WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the summer months; and
WHEREAS, the Central Ward Market Event not only offers Central Ward residents, but residents from throughout the City, the opportunity to enjoy food, shopping, and musical entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council indicates its support of the Central Ward Market Event, to be held on Treat Place, between Branford Place and William Street, on Saturday, June 5, 2021 and Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Central Ward Market Event, to be held on Treat Place, between Branford Place and William Street, on Saturday June 5, 2021 and Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Central Ward Market Event, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of $50.00, for the event to be held on Treat Place, between Branford Place and William Street, on Saturday, June 5, 2021 and Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. The event is co-sponsored by Council Member, LaMonica R. McIver.
