WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service and entertainment to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the 13th Annual Mt. Prospect Hot Rods & Classic Car Show, will be event will provide live music, food vendors, face painters, live characters for children, and about 150 Classic Cars parked along the street. This event is being combined with the Halloween Day Parade sponsored by Council President Luis A. Quintana; and
WHEREAS, the 13th Annual Mt. Prospect Hot Rods & Classic Car Show,” Saturday, October 31, 2026, Mt. Prospect Avenue between Delavan Avenue and Heller Parkway, Newark, from the hours of 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the 13th Annual Mt. Prospect Hot Rods & Classic Car Show,” Saturday, October 31, 2026, Mt. Prospect Avenue between Delavan Avenue and Heller Parkway, Newark, from the hours of 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
2. The Municipal Council is sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($ ??.00) however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
