The Office of the City Clerk in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq. provided adequate notice of this meeting change to the Star-Ledger and Jersey Journal on January 11, 2016 and disseminated to the public at large and made a part of the public record during the January 6, 2016 Municipal Council Regular Meeting.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is the legislative body of Newark government; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council annually approves, by resolution, the schedule of special conferences/meetings, pre-meetings and regular meetings of the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council approved the Official 2016 Meeting Notices and Municipal Calendar as 7R9-a adopted on December 2, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk published the schedule, called the “ 2016 Municipal Calendar” in December 2015 in the Star -Ledger and caused the schedule to be posted on the official website of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council may, by resolution, change the dates and times of Council conferences/meetings, pre-meetings and regular meetings by approving a resolution with five (5) affirmative votes; and
WHEREAS, the Special Conference/Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2016 needed to be changed to Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The City Clerk on behalf of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark is authorized to amend the Official 2016 Municipal Meeting Notices and Municipal Calendar at the request of the Municipal Council, along with adequate notice and publication in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq.
2. The Special Conference/Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2016 is changed to Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber.
STATEMENT:
This resolution hereby amends and authorizes the City Clerk on behalf of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark to adjust the Official 2016 Municipal Meeting Notices and Municipal Calendar at the request of the Municipal Council changing the Special Conference/Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2016 to Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber, with timely notice to the public and publication in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq.
