WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the National Youth Step Competition at Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, (Full Auditorium Gym, Atrium, and Music Classroom Close to the Stage) Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Newark Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, (Full Auditorium Gym, Atrium, and Music Classroom Close to the Stage) Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M., for the National Youth Step Competition.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the Science Park High School, 260 Norfolk Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, (Full Auditorium Gym, Atrium, and Music Classroom Close to the Stage) on Saturday, May 23, 2026 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M., for the National Youth Step Competition, sponsored by Council Member, Patrick O. Council, South Ward.
