                                          WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $23,175.00 bringing total program resources to $147,288.00, for the continued provision of STD Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2017 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and

 

                                          WHEREAS, by authorizing Resolution 7R2-a dated November 2, 2016, from the New Jersey Department of Health, the City of Newark has accepted $23,175.00 to continue providing Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) outreach and educational services to the residents of the City of Newark; and

 

                                          WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and

 

                                          WHEREAS, emergency appropriation adopted in 2017, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 including this resolution total……………… $168,458,410.18.

 

                                          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT: 

 

 

1.                     A temporary emergency appropriation be, and the same is hereby made for the following classification:

2.                     Said emergency appropriation shall be provided for in the 2017 budget.

 

3.                     The City Clerk of the City of Newark shall file a copy of this resolution with the Director of Local Government Services.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution hereby establishes the temporary emergency appropriation for the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Program 2016 in the amount of $23,175.00. The award was provided by the New Jersey Department of Health.
