WHEREAS, Power Origins Production Inc., located at 205 Maywood Ave, Maywood, New Jersey 07607, wishes to provide a gift of Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,000.00) to the City of Newark’s Department of Health and Community Wellness (“DCHW”), Office of Homelessness to provide Outreach and Engagement Services to support Street Outreach Efforts for Newark residents experiencing homelessness; and
WHEREAS, said gift reflects Power Origins Production Inc’s commitment to supporting the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29, a local unit is authorized and empowered to accept bequests, legacies, and gifts made to it and is empowered to utilize such bequests, legacies, and gifts in the manner set forth in the conditions of the bequest, legacy, and gift provided, however, that such bequest, legacy, or gift shall not be put to any use, which is inconsistent with the laws of the State of New Jersey and the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, Power Origins Production Inc, fully understands and agrees it is not entitled to receive any direct benefit from the City in exchange for its gift; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 5-29, the Director of DCHW desires to accept the gift of Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council authorizes the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness, on behalf of the City of Newark, to accept the gift of Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,000.00), from Power Origins Production Inc, located at 205 Maywood Ave, Maywood, New Jersey 07607, to provide Outreach and Engagement Services to support Street Outreach Efforts for the Newark residents experiencing homelessness (“Gift”).
2. No municipal funds shall be expended for the acceptance of this Gift.
3. The Director of Health and Community Wellness shall file a copy of the Gift letter in the Office of the City Clerk.
4. The acceptance of the Gift is ratified from on or about February 11, 2026, to the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
STATEMENT
This Resolution ratifies and authorizes the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness, on behalf of the City of Newark, to accept a gift from Power Origins Production Inc., in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,000.00) to provide funding to provide Outreach and Engagement Services to support the City’s Office of Homeless Services’ Street Outreach Efforts. This is gift is at no cost to the City of Newark.
