WHEREAS, Mayor Ras J. Baraka plans to host a program to Feed the Homeless which will provide meals as well as health screenings, entertainment and giveaways to the City’s homeless residents; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Ras J. Baraka would like to hold the event the Weequahic High School Gymnasium, 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, 07112 on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Public Schools requires the City of Newark to submit a Hold Harmless, Indemnification Agreement and Insurance Certificate Application, agreeing to indemnify it for any claims arising out of the use of said facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Office of the Mayor is authorized to execute a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement as provided by the Insurance Fund Commission providing for the indemnification of the Newark Public School System for any claims arising out of the use of the Weequahic High School Gymnasium located at 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112, on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00.P.M.
2. The Office of the Mayor forwarded a true copy of the Hold Harmless, Indemnification Agreement to the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless Indemnification Agreement drawn by the Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.

This resolution authorizes the Office of the Mayor, to execute a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement on behalf of the City of Newark, as provided by the Insurance Fund Commission providing, the Newark Public Schools with indemnification for any claims arising out of the use of Weequahic High School Gymnasium located at 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112 on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m
