Resolution 7R1-a(S) adopted on July 20, 2021, awarded a contract with GovConnection, Inc., an authorized Microsoft reseller, for two (2) years commencing March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2023, with an option to renew for one (1) additional year to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, in order to maintain the City of Newark’s Microsoft Office Suite, Servers and System Licensing in an amount not to exceed $1,350,000.00.
The City opts to exercise option to renew the contract under the previously existing terms and condition from March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024, for a contract amount not to exceed $675,000.00.

WHEREAS, Resolution 7R1-a(S) adopted on July 20, 2021, authorized the Business Administrator to enter into and execute a contract with GovConnection, Inc., an authorized Microsoft reseller, for two (2) years commencing March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2023, with an option to renew for one (1) additional year to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, in order to maintain the City of Newark’s Microsoft Office Suite, Servers and System Licensing; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to exercise an option to renew the contract under the previously existing terms and condition from March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024, for an amount not to exceed Six Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($675,000.00) for the services as described in the original Contract (attached hereto); and
WHEREAS, this Contract is being awarded pursuant to a Non-Fair and Open Process, pursuant to New Jersey State Pay-to-Play Law, N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor of the City of Newark and/or the Business Administrator are authorized to amend, ratify and authorize a contract with GovConnection Inc., an authorized Microsoft reseller, for one (1) year, from March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024, to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, for an amount not to exceed Six Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($675,000.00).
2. The Contract is hereby ratified from March 1, 2023 through the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
3. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:30-5(a), Temporary Budget, attached is the Chief Finance Officer Certification, which states partial funds in the amount of Three Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($337,500.00) are available in the 2023 Temporary Budget, the balance to be provided in the 2023 Budget. The Certification shall be filed, along with the original Resolution in the Office of the City Clerk
4. All goods and services of the renewal are to be performed pursuant to the terms and conditions stated in the original Contract.
5. The Business Administrator shall file a fully executed Contract in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution amends, ratifies and authorizes the Mayor of the City of Newark and/or his designee, the Business Administrator, to amend and exercise an option to renew the Contract with GovConnection Inc., at 732 Milford Road, Merrimack, New Hampshire 03054, for one (1) additional year, commencing March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024, to provide System Support, Licensing, and Maintenance for Microsoft’s proprietary software, for the City of Newark, for an amount not to exceed $675,000.00.
