Additional Information:

Resolution 7R2-a adopted on January 19, 2017, authorized and directed the Central Planning Board to conduct a preliminary investigation to ascertain whether the Municipal Council of the City of Newark should designate the Study Area as a Condemnation Redevelopment Area. Resolution 7R2-d (S) adopted, as amended, on June 7, 2018 incorrectly included addresses 214-252 Doremus Avenue and 254-266 Doremus Avenue.  The within Resolution amends Resolution 7R2-d (S) June 7, 2018 to correctly remove the above mentioned addresses

or any portions thereof ("Study Area") as a “Condemnation Redevelopment Area”; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution 7R2-d (S) was amended on the floor by the Municipal Council to remove addresses 191-241 Avenue P, 293-317 Roanoke Avenue, 319-351 Roanoke Avenue, 303-315 Doremus Avenue, 317-329 Doremus Avenue, and 125-145 Doremus Avenue, identified on the Tax Map respectively as Block 5006.01, Lot 1, Block 5010 Lot 34, Block 5010 Lot 35, Block 5060.01 Lot 7, Block 5060.01 Lot 148, Block 5060.01 Lot 151, and Block 5010 Lot 21.02; and

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has now requested that addresses 214-252 Doremus Avenue and 254-266 Doremus Avenue be removed, and the Municipal Council desires to amend Resolution 7R2-d (S) June 7, 2018, to approve the designation of the Study Area as a “Condemnation Redevelopment Area” with all of the addresses listed in the Resolution excluding addresses 214-252 Doremus Avenue and 254-266 Doremus Avenue, identified on the Tax Map respectively as Block 5014, Lots 1.01 and 4 and Block 5014, Lots 7 and 7-A.

 

                     

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     Resolution 7R2-d (S), adopted on June 7, 2018, is hereby amended to delete 214-252 Doremus Avenue and 254-266 Doremus Avenue, identified on the Tax Map respectively as Block 5014 Lot 1.01 and 4 and Block 5014, Lots 7 and 7-A, from the language of the Resolution.

 

2.                     All other parts of Resolution 7R2-d (S), adopted on June 7, 2018, shall remain the same.

 

3.                     The amendment to Resolution 7R2-d (S) is ratified from June 7, 2018 until the date of adoption of this amending resolution.

 

4.                     The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this amending Resolution to the Commissioner of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for review, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-6(b)(5).

 

5.                     Within ten (10) days of the Municipal Council's adoption of the within amending Resolution, the Department of Economic and Housing Development of the City of Newark shall serve notice of this amending Resolution upon all record owners of property within the “Condemnation Redevelopment” Area, those whose names are listed on the Tax Assessor's records, and upon each person who filed a written objection thereto and stated, in or upon the written submission, an address to which notice of the determination and this amending Resolution may be sent and upon the Commissioner  of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution ratifies and authorizes an amendment to Resolution 7R2-d (S), adopted on June 7, 2018, to delete 214-252 Doremus Avenue and 254-266 Doremus Avenue, identified on the Tax Map respectively as Block 5014, Lots 1.01 and 4 and Block 5014, Lots 7 and 7-A, from the language of the Resolution.   All other parts of Resolution 7R2-d (S), adopted on June 7, 2018 shall remain the same.
