WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to fifty (50) Constables for a term of three (3) years, unless the Municipal Council by resolution, fixes a one (1) year term; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to appoint Timothy Aaron Davis, as a Constable, for a three (3) year term pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Timothy Aaron Davis, of 117 Schuyler Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112, is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve writs, summonses, subpoenas and complaints.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of the appointment or to the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
STATEMENT
This resolution authorizes the appointment of Timothy Aaron Davis, 117 Schuyler Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a period of three (3) years from the date of the appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
