WHEREAS, Gateway Group One Security, 604-608 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, wishes to donate a T-3 Motion Segway Model #2639, VIN# 42112002S1TMBA02639, valued at Twelve Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy Dollars and Zero Cents ($12,270.00); and
WHEREAS, the letter of donation from Gateway Group One Security (attached hereto and made a part hereof) does not set forth any conditions relative to the acceptance or use of the gift; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Public Safety Director recommends that the gift from Gateway Group One Security be accepted pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29; and
WHEREAS, the gift shall not be put to any use which is inconsistent with the laws of New Jersey and of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Gateway Group One Security fully understands and acknowledges that it is not entitled to receive any direct or indirect benefit from the City of Newark in exchange for its gift.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or his designees, the Business Administrator and/or the Public Safety Director, are hereby authorized to accept the gift from Gateway Group One Security, 604-608 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, of a T-3 Motion Segway Model #2639, VIN# 42112002S1TMBA02639, valued at Twelve Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy Dollars and Zero Cents ($12,270.00).
2. The Municipal Council ratifies the acceptance of the gift from January 28, 2016 to the date of the adoption of this resolution.
3. No municipal funds will be expended in the acceptance of this gift.
4. The original executed gift award letter from Gateway Group One Security shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk by the Public Safety Director.
STATEMENT
This resolution authorizes and ratifies the actions taken by the Mayor and/or his designees, the Business Administrator and/or the Public Safety Director, to accept a gift from Gateway Group One Security, 604-608 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, of a T-3 Motion Segway Model #2639, VIN# 42112002S1TMBA02639, valued at Twelve Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy Dollars and Zero Cents ($12,270.00).
