WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service and entertainment to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to all segments of the society; and 

WHEREAS, the “Dominican Pride Day - Block Party” will enrich the community by giving our area an opportunity to get to meet and network with the Dominican neighbors and youngsters that we rarely see and also while music is playing, food and soft drinks are shared; and

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the “Dominican Pride Day - Block Party” being held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 (Rain Date, Sunday, July 26, 2026), 1^st Street, 4^th Street and 6^th Avenue, Newark, from the hours 12:40 PM until 8:00 PM.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

1.                     The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the “Dominican Pride Day - Block Party” being held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 (Rain Date, Sunday, July 26, 2026), on 1^st Street, 4^th Street and 6^th Avenue, Newark, from the hours of 12:40 PM until 8:00 PM.

2.                     The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($0.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

This resolution supports and declares sponsorship by the Municipal Council of “Dominican Pride Day - Block Party” being held on Sunday, July 12, 2026
