WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting 4 City All Star Tournament, New Jersey One Day Playoffs at West Side Park (Gymnasium), 600 South 17th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Essex County, Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of West Side Park (Gymnasium), 600 South 17th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., for a 4 City All Star Tournament, New Jersey One Day Playoffs.
2. This Municipal Council hereby ratifies this hold harmless and indemnification agreement from July 29, 2024, to the date of this authorizing resolution.
3. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Essex County, Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for their records.
4. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Essex County, Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 155 Prospect Avenue, Suite 100, West Orange, New Jersey 07052, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use West Side Park (Gymnasium), 600 South 17th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103, on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., for a 4 City All Star Tournament, New Jersey One Day Playoffs, sponsored by Council Member, Dupré L. Kelly.
