WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of supporting a wholesome Feeding for the Homeless, sponsored by the Mayor of the City of Newark at Weequahic High School, 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112 on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. (inclusive of setup and breakdown times); and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event for the benefit of Newark’s Homeless residents by approving this Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Office of the Mayor is authorized to execute a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission for the benefit of the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the facility(s) located at Weequahic High School, Gymnasium 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112, for the holding of the City of Newark, Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s Annual Feeding for the Homeless on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. (inclusive of setup and breakdown times).
2. The Office of the Mayor, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, NJ 07102 for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreementdrawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk by the Office of the Mayor.
STATEMENT
This resolution hereby supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Newark Public Schools, 2 Cedar Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the facility(s) located at Weequahic High School, Gymnasium 279 Chancellor Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112 for the holding of the City of Newark, Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s Annual Feeding for the Homeless on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. (inclusive of setup and breakdown times), sponsored by the Mayor of the City of Newark.
