The South 16th Street Block Party will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 (Rain Date, August 23, 2025) the intersection of South 16th Street between Clinton and Madison Avenues.

The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($100.00) One Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents   for the Block Party will be waived.

Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark, while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and

 

WHEREAS, the South 16th Street Block Party will be held in Newark, NJ.  The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fees of One Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($(100.00) for the event will be waived; and

 

 WHEREAS, the South 16th Street Block Party is an opportunity to let the City of Newark and its residents take notice that every ward in this City can and will offer the best of opportunities, fun, food, education, and information that may be needed in every category.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the South 16th Street Block Party, being held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 (Rain Date, August 23, 2025), from the hours of 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the intersection of South 16th Street between Clinton and Madison Avenues. 

 

2.                     The Municipal Council is sponsoring this event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of One Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($100.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

                     This Resolution supports and declares sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the South 16th Street Block Party, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($100.00), to be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 (Rain Date, August 23, 2025), from the hours of 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the intersection of South 16th Street between Clinton and Madison Avenues.  This event is being sponsored by Council Member Patrick O. Council, South Ward.
