AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE XXIII, TRAFFIC, CHAPTER 5, PARKING, STOPPING AND STANDING, GENERALLY, SECTION 23:5-7, PARKING OR STANDING PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN AREAS AT CERTAIN TIMES FOR STREET CLEANING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, TO REMOVE TREADWELL STREET, ON THE NORTH SIDE, BETWEEN RIDGE STREET AND MOUNT PROSPECT AVENUE; AND INCLUDE TREADWELL STREET, ON THE SOUTH SIDE, BETWEEN RIDGE STREET AND MOUNT PROSPECT AVENUE (NORTH WARD).

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council finds that it is desirable to amend Sub-Section e, Attachment I (as follows) of Section 23:5-7, Parking or Standing Prohibited in Certain Areas at Certain Times for Street Cleaning, to remove Treadwell Street, from Mount Prospect Avenue to Ridge Street, north side, for street cleaning on Wednesday afternoons between 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M.; and include Treadwell Street, from Mount Prospect Avenue to Ridge Street, south side, for street cleaning on Thursday afternoons between 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M., in the North Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

SECTION 1. That Section 23:5-7, Parking or Standing Prohibited in Certain Areas at Certain Times, of Title 23, Traffic , of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by removing thereto the following:

Streets to be Swept Wednesday Afternoons 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M.
Treadwell Street, from Mount Prospect Avenue to Ridge Street , north side
as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:

Streets to be Swept Thursday Afternoons 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M.
Treadwell Street from Mount Prospect Avenue to Ridge Street , south side.
SECTION 2. Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of their inconsistency only.
SECTION 3. If any part of this Ordinance shall be declared to be invalid or inoperative, such part shall be deemed severable and the invalidity thereof shall not affect remaining parts of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
SECTION 6. Codification. This Ordinance shall be a part of the Code of the City of Newark as though codified and fully set forth therein. The City Clerk shall have this Ordinance codified and incorporated in the official copies of the Code. The City Clerk and the Corporation Counsel are authorized and directed to change any Chapter, Article and/or Section number of the Code of the City of Newark in the event that the codification of this Ordinance reveals that there is a conflict between the numbers and the existing Code, and in order to avoid confusion and possible accidental repealers of existing provisions not intended to be repealed.
STATEMENT
This Ordinance amends Section 23:5-7e, Parking or Standing Prohibited in Certain Areas at Certain Times, to remove Treadwell Street, between Mount Prospect Avenue and Ridge Street, north side, for street cleaning on Wednesday afternoons between 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M; and to include Treadwell Street, between Mount Prospect Avenue and Ridge Street, south side, for street cleaning on Thursday afternoons between 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M., in the North Ward.
