WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit, in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-8(e), the following described location is relocated as a bus stop:
ADDED BUS STOP:
1. In the West Ward, along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side thereof:
Roseville Avenue, Far Side
Beginning at the westerly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 150 feet westerly therefrom.
DELETED BUS STOP:
2. In the West Ward, along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side thereof:
Roseville Avenue, Near Side
Beginning at the easterly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8(e), a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the West Ward, the following described location be hereby relocated:
From: along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side, at Roseville Avenue (Near Side) beginning at the easterly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.
To: along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side, at Roseville Avenue (Far Side) beginning at the westerly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 150 feet westerly therefrom.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. No Amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
4. Upon approval, the Engineering Department will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk's Office to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the relocation of a bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the relocation of a bus stop as stated.
6. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop relocation does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation's approval.
STATEMENT
This resolution designates the relocation of a bus stop in the West Ward as follows:
From: along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side, at Roseville Avenue (Near Side) beginning at the easterly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 105ft easterly therefrom.
To: along West Market Street, westbound on the northerly side, at Roseville Avenue (Far Side) beginning at the westerly curb line of Roseville Avenue and extending 150ft westerly therefrom.
