Whereas, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals and pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described location designates the deletion of a bus stop:
DELETED BUS STOP:
1. In the East Ward, along Market Street, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
Jackson Street, nearside
Beginning at the westerly curb line of Jackson Street and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8(e), a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the East Ward, the following described location be hereby deleted:
Along Market Street, eastbound on the southerly side, at Jackson Street (nearside) beginning at the westerly curb line of Jackson Street and extending 105 feett westerly therefrom.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. No Amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
4. Upon approval, the Engineering Department will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk’s Office to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the deletion of bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the deletion of bus stop as stated.
6. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop deletion does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation’s approval.
STATEMENT
This resolution designates the deletion of bus stop in the East Ward as follows:
Along Market Street, eastbound on the southerly side, at Jackson Street (nearside) beginning at the westerly curb line of Jackson Street and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.
