WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, New Jersey; adopted Resolution 7R1-r dated February 6, 2013, to provide temporary funds for the period of January 1, 2013 through March 31, 2013, until the adoption of the Operating Budget of the City of Newark, New Jersey and 7R1-b dated February 28, 2013 to provide temporary funds for the period of April 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013, and Resolution 7R1-m dated March 28, 2013 to be considered and adopted at its scheduled meeting on May 15, 2013 to provide funds for the period of May 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013 until the adoption of the Operating Budget of the City of Newark, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, additional appropriations will be required for the Water Utility from June 1, 2013 through June 30, 2013, until the adoption of the budget; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and
WHEREAS, the emergency appropriations adopted in 2013, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 including this resolution total
$36,483,397.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
- The Governing Body by a two-thirds vote of its full membership hereby amends its temporary budget by making the following temporary emergency appropriations for the Water Utility:

STATEMENT
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize, establish and provide additional funds required for the continued operation of the Water Utility for the month of June 2013.
